Yes, you can call upon those “other professionals”, the ones who are nationally known. There you may receive service from their local technician who may or may not be the same person from one visit to the next, who does not know your personal situation and needs. He may or may not know which pests respond to which treatment or which pests do not “eat bait”. You can pay their exorbitant prices and receive their “once a year” pest control service, but we all know pests come back. They live in the ground, lay eggs, hatch their young and come in out of the heat, cold, and rain. So why pay the high prices for unrealistic service?
